PETRA NEW SERVICE TICKET NON-LICENSED COMPANIES JITOA seek to assure and guarantee the quality of services offered to the tourists via local Tour Operators and their work practices to help maintain the image of Jordan as a unique tourism destination. JITOA and the Jordan Society for Tourism and Travel Agents worked together in advocating for a better implementation of this new service ticket with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority. The new Petra service ticket was activated in 2010. JITOA actively works to enhance the implementation of the service ticket by tackling with the emerging issues and complains they may face with their tourist groups and FITs to ensure the best tourist experience in Petra. THE BORDER ENTRIES PROCEDURES
JITOA members Tour Operators were struggling from no allowance to operate one day trips to neighboring countries; such as to Jerusalem. JITOA is working along with the Tourist Police to facilitate the procedures for border entries.JITOA is still in contact with concerned parties to set final regulations on this issue. Learn More
JITOA actively lobby for sector advocacy issues to provide a better business environment, while we helped in the negotiations process with the Tourism Ministry and governmental officials to exempt sales tax fees on travel packages to Jordan.
