Voluntourism Project
In cooperation with the Jordan Service Modernization Program (JSMP)/JEDCO, JITOA launched a special project on Voluntourism in Jordan under a grant funded by European Commission (EU) that aims at helping businesses and business associations to combat the economic crisis.
JITOA under this grant established the “Voluntourism Project” providing a new and unique opportunity for the Jordan Tourism Sector, to get introduced closely to the “VOLUNTOURISM” definition, the international practices, its market and the potential social and economic benefits for the community and Jordan economy.
The project aims at increasing Voluntourism opportunities in Jordan, and highlighting Voluntourism as one of the growing travel trends in Jordan tourism industry and also help increase the Voluntourism market in Jordan Inbound Tourism.

JITOA actively lobby for sector advocacy issues to provide a better business environment, while we helped in the negotiations process with the Tourism Ministry and governmental officials to exempt sales tax fees on travel packages to Jordan.
