Internship Programs ► HOW TO JOIN
JITOA implements Tourism Management Internship programs to address the human resource needs of the tourism sector in Jordan, which is facing serious challenges in connecting between tourism enterprises and educational institutes responsible for tourism training and education and finding the qualified caliber to meet the expectations of tourism employers.
Under the internship program students get the opportunity to gain much needed practical experience and offer them the chance to apply their theoretical knowledge and learn new practical business skills. Basic skills and knowledge needed by tourism enterprises, in the areas of communication, language skills, and customer service, among others.
We realize that there will be not only a shortage of well trained staff for the tourism industry but also that students graduating with degrees in tourism need more practical experience to prepare them to begin their career in tourism. According to JTDPII, for the 10,000 new hotel rooms under development, Jordan will need more 25,000 employees, with 1,000 supervisors and 500 managers to guide these employees.
We believe that Internship programs are a cooperative education process that is mutually beneficial to the host organization and intern. If you are a student who is looking for an internship opportunity in tourism, or if you are a JITOA member and have a job that fits the design of an internship, we can help you find the best placements and/or a qualified workforce.
