Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Project Team and Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) Collaborate to Promote Petra’s Newly Developed Tourism Products.
[Amman, 27/9/2023] – The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Project Team and the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) marked a momentous occasion today with the signing ceremony of the collaboration agreement at the JITOA Office. The partnership aims to organize a FAM (Familiarization) trip pilot project (local and international) to explore and promote the newly developed tourism products in the iconic Petra Region.
The FAM Trips represents a remarkable opportunity for international delegates, including prominent travel agents and industry influencers, to experience Petra’s rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and innovative tourism offerings.
The signing ceremony, held on the 27th of September, 2023, signifies a commitment to fostering cross-cultural collaboration and promoting Petra as a leading travel destination. This initiative aligns with JICA and JITOA’s shared vision of sustainable tourism development and economic growth in the Petra Region.
JICA Expert, representing JICA expressed his team’s enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to join forces with JITOA to showcase the beauty and potential of the Petra Region to an international traveler. This partnership reflects our dedication to supporting Jordan’s vibrant tourism industry.”
Mr. Awni Kawar, Vice President of JITOA, added, “The Petra Region is a treasure trove of history and natural wonders. We are confident that this collaboration with the JICA Project team will raise awareness about these new tourism products and strengthen the ties between our two nations.”
The FAM Trip is set to unveil Petra’s hidden gems, offer unique experiences, and create lasting impressions on participants. Through this partnership, JICA and JITOA aim to promote responsible tourism and sustainable development in Jordan, especially in the Petra region.

اتفاقية تعاون بين الوكالة اليابانية للتعاون الدولي (جايكا) والجمعية الأردنية للسياحة الوافدة (جايتوا)
[عمان، 27/9/2023] – تم اليوم في مكاتب الجمعية الأردنية للسياحة الوافدة (جايتوا) حفل توقيع اتفاقية تعاون بين الوكالة اليابانية للتعاون الدولي (جايكا) والجمعية الأردنية للسياحة الوافدة. وتهدف هذه الاتفاقية إلى تنظيم رحلات استكشافية محلية ودولية لزيارة المواقع السياحية التي تم تطويرها من قبل الوكالة اليابانية في منطقة البتراء التنموية.
بحضور ممثلين من الوكالة اليابانية (جايكا) ومجلس إدارة الجمعية، تم توقيع هذه الاتفاقية يوم الأربعاء الموافق 23 سبتمبر 2023، مما يمثل خطوة مهمة نحو تعزيز التعاون بين اليابان والأردن في مجال السياحة.
تعبر هذه الاتفاقية عن التزام الطرفين بتعزيز العلاقات الثنائية وتعزيز التبادل الثقافي بين البلدين. سيتاح للزوار الدوليين والمحليين الفرصة لاستكشاف المواقع الفريدة والثقافة الغنية في منطقة البتراء التنموية من خلال هذه الرحلات الاستكشافية.
قال مندوب جايكا: “نحن ممتنون لهذا التعاون مع الجمعية الأردنية للسياحة الوافدة، ونتطلع إلى تعزيز التفاهم الثقافي بين شعبينا وإبراز جمال وثقافة منطقة البتراء التنموية.”
أضاف السيد عوني قعوار” نائب رئيس الجمعية الاردنية للسياخة الوافدة: هذه الاتفاقية تمثل فرصة فريدة لزيارة المواقع السياحية التي تم تطويرها من قبل جايكا في منطقتنا. ستقدم هذه الرحلات إلى الزوار تجربة لا تُنسى وتعزز من مكانة الأردن كوجهة سياحية مميزة.”
تظهر هذه الاتفاقية التزام الوكالة اليابانية (جايكا) والجمعية الأردنية للسياحة الوافدة بدعم قطاع السياحة الوافدة الى الاردن وخاصة منطقة البتراء من خلال دعم المجتمعات المحلية في اقليم البتراء والسياحة المستدامة في المنطقة.
