Earlier today, JITOA presented HE Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Mrs. Majd Shweikeh with an appreciation plaque; honoring her efforts in boosting Jordan’s tourism sector throughout 2019, and solidifying Jordan’s position on the world tourism map.
Over the weekend, our tour operators members enjoyed a FAM trip to learn more about RumSky رم سكاي and Henna Fantasia, unique experiences that enrich the tourists’ itineraries while in Jordan! It was a fun weekend with lots of new experiences and business opportunities.

In there presence of key stakeholders in the tourism sector, JITOA and The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature kicked off the MEDUSA Project information session, briefing attendees about the work plans involved in this program, which aims to develop and promote the Mediterranean sustainable adventure tourism scene. This program is funded by the EU ENI CBCMED program.
Today morning witnessed the signing of an MOU between JITOA and CAFRAJ - French Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Jordan, focusing on collaboration and and cooperation for both associations’ members. HE Mr. Akel Biltaji, Chairman of CAFRAJ, signed alongside Mr. Awni Kawar, JITOA Chairman, and was witnessed by HE Mrs. Veronique Vouland-Aneini, French Ambassador to Jordan.
Building on our partnership and support received through الإدارة الملكية لحماية البيئة/Rangers for همة ولمة Himmeh w Lammeh, today witnessed the signing of the official MOU between JITOA and the Rangers, with the aim to collaborate and connect closer on issues related to the environment and eco-tourism.
Together as partners, JITOA & Wild Jordan are in Tunisia attending the kickoff meeting of the Development and Promotion of Mediterranean Sustainable Adventure Tourism Project (MEDUSA) which is funded by ENICBCMED - Cooperating Across Boarders in the Mediterranean. JITOA signed Memorandum of Understanding with Jordan University
Amman, 18/12/2018 – The Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Jordan University, School of Archaeology and Tourism. The agreement which was signed by Mr. Awni Kawar, Chairman of the Board, and Dr. Nada Al-Rawabdeh, Dean of the School, aims at increased cooperation between the two organizations to enhance the level of tourism education and offer students the opportunity to get better access to the private sector, to the business know-how and provide opportunities for internships and training.
This step is an important part of JITOA strategy to enhance links with Academia, and provide private sector feedback on needed resources, new trends and developments in the tourism business requirements. On the other hand, the university will benefit from enhanced access to private sector leaders in the various tourism spheres through the JITOA membership basis, and will be able to actively engage in the sector’s activities.
This agreement is part of JITOA’s effort to support its members with relevant HR needs and create more awareness in the inbound tourism sector among undergraduate students.

The Jordanian Inbound Tour Operators Association, and in partnership with the Jordan Tourism Board and the Jordan Society of Travel Agents, organized a combined marketing trip to Poland between November 19 and 16 2018, with the participation of 9 travel agenda and 2 hotel chains. Poland is considered among the top outbound markets in Eastern Europe with around 14 million travelers per year, and $8.7 billion in spending. Ryan Air has opened up two new routes between Amman and 2 Polish cities (Warsaw and Krakow) as of October 2018.

In its effort to create more awareness among the sector and its partners on tourism importance, JITOA organized a cultural tour-guided walk from Al-Weibdeh area to Abdali Boulevard on October 13th.
The walk which was completed by 298 walkers was planned in celebration of World Tourism Day, which falls every year on September 27, with the aim to bring everyone together, and engage both industry and non-industry partners to highlight how important tourism is for the communities that it touches, and ultimately for Jordan at large.
This year, the theme for the World Tourism Day is “Digital Transformation”. Therefore JITOA worked on several levels to showcase the “Digital Transformation” aspect within the sector and how the various components are linked together. video
Joint trip with the Jordan Businessmen Association to Istanbul, as part of the Jordanian Turkish Business Form. The aim for the tourism sector presence was to build ties and explore means of collaborations with Turkish counterparts on promoting inbound traffic to Jordan.
